March of the Living 2023-2024 Application
Financial Assistance Application
In 1998 Holocaust survivors, local educators and Jewish leaders created the Miami version of the March of the Living program. Since its' inception, over 3,000 teens from Miami have traveled to Poland and Israel to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hate. In 2001, after participating in the International March of the Living, a survivor named Leo Martin (z’l) from Lodz, Poland spearheaded the creation of the Friends of the March of the Living and created a Foundation in order to perpetuate the mission and objectives of the program by granting scholarship assistance to local students. Mr. Martin was dedicated to investing in teens who are interested in deepening their Jewish identity and learning about the Holocaust.
Miami's Leo Martin March of the Living (MOTL) program offers financial assistance to support participants who might not be able to afford the tuition. He contributed one million dollars to the program known today as Miami's Leo Martin March of the Living (MOTL). The non-refundable application fee is $260. The application fee is not applied toward tuition and is separate from the total cost of the program. At this time, we do not have all the details regarding the cost of the full program. We expect tuition to range between $7,995 and $9,995. If the program is limited to travel to Poland only, the range will be $5,795 to $6,995. Additionally, travel and medical insurance must be purchased independently of the tuition fee. The exact costs and cancellation policy will be finalized by October 2024, with all payments due between November 2024 and February 2025. Please keep in mind that the March of the Living program does not provide full scholarship funding. For additional financial assistance, contact your Synagogue or Temple.
